Hi, I’m Claire Lawrence, a Qualified and Externally Verified Dog Trainer and Behaviourist, with over 20 years of experience living with and helping dog parents transform their pets’ reactivity into calm, manageable behaviours.
Owning a reactive dog is no small challenge. I know this firsthand—not just from my years of professional training, but from my personal experience too.
My most recent fostering case with a dog named Dot, pushed me to my limits. Her behavioural issues were unlike anything I had ever encountered before, leaving me on the verge of a panic attack and immense stress, more than once.
Dot wasn’t just reactive—she was terrified of everything.
But underneath that fear was an unsettling level of confidence too, and she wasn’t afraid to use her teeth to get what she wanted. That meant targeting both me, the other dogs in my household and anything that got in her way.
It took months of consistent effort just to get Dot to the point where she could be loose in the house with the other dogs. And it didn’t stop there.
She had deeply ingrained behaviours such as resource guarding, biting, attacking without warning, and being incredibly reactive, even to leaves blowing across her path.
At her worst, she bullied the other dogs in the house, initiating fights with three of them for no clear reason other than, “because she could.”
But today? Dot is a completely different dog.
She welcomes more and more visitors into the house, walks calmly past distractions, enjoys scent work sessions, and plays fetch with her new people friends and our neighbour in the garden.
She’s a shining example of what’s possible when you put in the work.
Dot isn’t the first reactive dog I’ve helped, and she won’t be the last.
My philosophy has always been that hard work, pays off, and Dot is living proof of that.
I want to be upfront with you though… helping a reactive dog requires commitment, consistency, and a willingness to adapt.
There’s no magic wand, no instant cure—despite what some might claim. But with effort and the right methods, you can see progress.
For some dogs, this means learning lifelong management techniques. But for many others, a full transformation is entirely possible.
Every dog can make strides toward a calmer, more peaceful life with the right guidance and I’d love to help you achieve that, with your dog.
During the Masterclass, I’ll be sharing the exact methods I’ve used to help Dot and countless other reactive dogs thrive in the human world.
These strategies work, but they will require commitment and patience from you.
If you’re ready to roll up your sleeves and do the work required, I’m here to guide you every step of the way.
I can’t wait to see you there and help you transform your relationship with your dog!
