Day 9: Reflection: Daily Prompt

65%

Yesterday, we spoke about the pressure we put on ourselves and our dogs.

We talked about how easy it is to become so focused on “getting better” that we lose sight of why we started this journey in the first place.

Today, I’d like you to forget training for a moment.

Forget heel-work.
Forget engagement.
Forget whether your dog reacts or not.

Instead…

I want you to picture your perfect walk.

Close your eyes if it helps.

Where are you?
What can you see?
How does your dog look?
How do you feel?
What are the two of you doing together?

Really take your time with this.

Because something interesting happens when we stop focusing on the behaviour we’re trying to stop and start focusing on the life we’re trying to build instead.

Most people don’t dream about having a dog that never barks.

They dream about feeling relaxed.
They dream about enjoying a coffee after a walk instead of crying on the drive home.
They dream about letting the lead go slack.
They dream about laughing again.
They dream about feeling proud of themselves and their dog.

That’s the bigger picture.

That’s what we’re working towards.

Not perfection.

Not a robot.

A relationship where both of you can enjoy life together.

Today’s Reflection

Share as much or as little as you’d like in the WhatsApp Group tonight.

✨ If there were no limits, what would your dream walk look like?

✨ What would your dog be doing?

✨ More importantly…

How would you be feeling?

Keep this somewhere safe.

Because, in a few weeks’ time, I’d love you to come back and read it again.

You might be surprised by how much has already started to change.
